League of Legends Diamond Ranked Games (10 min)
Background:
League of Legends is a MOBA (multiplayer online battle arena) where 2 teams (blue and red) face off. There
are 3 lanes, a jungle, and 5 roles. The gaming goal is to take down the enemy Nexus to win the game.
Moreover, there are 8 different levels in this game, which are Iron, Silver, Gold, Platinum, Diamond, Master,
and Challenger.
Overall goal
People like League of Legends, but like every other thing in the world that only the minority can do it well.
We are going to use the dataset of “League of Legends Diamond Ranked Games(10 min)” that the public at
Kaggle tries to find out whether there is a fixed factor that must be achieved that strongly
influences the gaming result. We will check what evidence in 10 mins can cause the game to win
based on the date that is made by high-level players. Besides, based on our experiments, we
think that the numbers of wards placed and the gold difference will be the mean point of the
whole game, we want to use R code to make sure that it’s true or not.

Description of the dataset
This dataset contains the first 10 min game of League of Legends between Diamond
players(Diamond I to Master, roughly the same level). The database tallies 9879 games
including attack detail about both blue and red sides. We have 21 columns that include the game
ID, results, and 19 category factors we gauss that might give an effect on the loss or win results.
Each row describes the same game ID that how they did in that game including all the data detail
below.

Key Questions
● If there is a strong relationship between the number of wards placed & gold difference
(economy) and winning results? ( based in our beliefs)
● Figuring out what is the most important winning point. (base on the truth of dataset of
Diamond level)
● If there is a strong relationship between any factors and results, is that a positive
relationship or a negative relationship. And whether there is a function model that can
describe it.
Methodologies
To achieve the goal that figures out whether there is a relationship between the wards placed vs.
results and gold different vs. results, use “filter” and “group_by” the winning group and lost
group. Plotting each group to compare if there is a positive relationship between them by
“ggplot”. If so, and a very strong linear relation, we will find out the linear regression line of it.
Also, we may draw the regression line in the same graph between the winning group and the lost
group to compare the result more clearly by using “gridExtra:: grid.arrange”.
To check energy other categories whether it is one fixed factor that must be reached that strongly
influence the gaming result. We will plot every single category vs. results using “ungroup” and
“ggplot”.
