Abstract
Enforcement of employment immigration rules
The research measured the employment levels of the immigrants. I will replicate the study of
Orrenius and Zavodny, on employment rates of immigrants and labor laws. A keen assessment of
collection of personal life information in the various aspects of life of immigrants is done as
provided in the data (Orrenius, 2012) Influential determinants to the life quality of American
immigrants are observed in this research.
Employment of American immigrants
This is made relevant in the case of strict allocation of jobs to immigrants who have work
permits (Orrenius,2012). Authentic research is to be replicated and extended in the areas of
immigration and issuance of work permits to Americans.
There were several variables used which were very important for the study. The variable was
employment.
The variables to be used in this study are immigration rules and employment level of immigrants.
Immigration rules will be the independent variable and employment of immigrants will be the
dependent variable.
Alternate hypothesis, H1 : There is a relationship between immigration rules and employment of
immigrants.
Null Hypothesis,
H0 : There is no relationship between immigration rules and employment
of immigrants.
There was a statistically significant difference between groups as determined by a one-way
ANOVA (F(5,765)=6.78, p= .004) from table 1. The test revealed that the quality of life after the
intervention was significantly different when an intervention was administered as seen in table 3
for Post Hoc Test on multiple comparisons. There is a statistically significant difference in the
employment between the control group and the group that were not employed (p= .043). As well,
there is a statistically significant difference between the unemployed immigrants and those who
were employed (p= 0.003) as observed (Orrenius, 2012) However, there were no differences
between the groups that had no information and those that had a quiz together with the
information (p=0.93). As well, there were no statistically significant differences between those
who had the no information and those who had the information on the quality of life (p= 0.417)
as evidenced from table 3.
Data Analysis
From the data, the likely explanatory variable is the employment status of the
immigrants in America. In the analysis above, we find that there is a linear relationship between
the quality of life and employment. There is a positive linear relationship between the quality of
life and employment of an individual working is higher than the mean value of an unemployed
person quality of life.
Results
Simple linear regression results:
The linear correlation coefficient is 0.8217. The coefficient is between 0 and 1. This implies the
quality of life has a strong positive linear relationship with employment. The least squares line is
presented below:
Employment of immigrants = -5.4703634+0.5619453 Immigration rules
The slope of the least square line is 0.5619453. A unit increase in one of the immigration rules
will increase the employment of immigrants by 0.5619453. Using the linear regression equation
to predict the employment of immigrants (y) we obtain;
Employment of immigrants = -5.4703634+0.5619453*(81) = 43.09
The residual of this predicted value is
34.16
Residual = 34.01-28.5 =5.51, the residual is positive implying that the predicted value is greater
than the actual value. The predicted quality of life

P-value < , reject the null hypothesis and conclude that there is a sufficient evidence to support
the claim that there is a linear relationship between the two variables. From the study, it is
apparent that the immigration labor rules are stringent therefore making it hard for immigrants to
live well.
