 last week we identified research questions and problems. Now it is time to take the next step and look at the research out there on our problem (Houser, 2018). In this discussion thread please identify your research question, then identify if you would look for qualitative or quantitative research to answer your question.  Here is my Topic and discussion of last week to guide you. ur group’s assignment is on patient Safety Measure Tools and Resources. As nurses, the well-being of patients is always our main concern. Therefore, measures to maximize patient safety becomes very crucial and thus, understanding them is very vital. There are so many areas that possess safety issues to patients such as errors, injuries, accidents and, infections. To prevent these issues the Wealth Health Organization (WHO) initiated the Patient Safety Friendly Hospital Initiative (PSFHI) tool to help study its effectiveness in hospitalized patients.

From my article of focus, PSFHI tool is a very crucial player in making better the services rendered by nurses and thus minimizing the risk of the patients getting to any harm. The main focus of the report is improving safety measures by reducing the risk of patients by adopting a patient safety friendly hospital initiative that aims at optimal patient safety. Medical errors can be very costly in the medical field. In case of a mistake in surgery, which according to research were on the rise as of march of 2018, with 16.8 patients developing complications after the surgery (Nemati et al., 2016). The starts are very worrying as they can lead to loss of life. With an interface that can quickly tell if the risk in a patient and call for further diagnosis on the same will help significantly in limiting the effects of readmission of patients or even risking their lives. The attribute allows the nurses and caregivers to tell on the patient’s condition as well as avoid the relapsing of patients.

This article will aid in my research as it elaborates on the importance of PSFHI tool in the safety of patients. According to our textbook research is used to affirm and determine best nursing practices (Houser ,2018).

Research question: How useful is PSFHI in Patient safety Measure Tool and Resources?  PICOT components: P- patients admitted in the hospital, I-managing patients conditions using the PSFHI, C-comparison of results between when PSFHI is in use, and when it is not in use, O-record the number of medical errors in both cases, T-time.
