Week 12: Gratitude & Follow Up

When you are able to complete your data collection process, be sure to express your gratitude to the Leadership of the research site who have helped facilitate the interaction with participants. The number of doctoral programs and candidates are growing every day and it has become harder to find potential research partners. Ensuring your research site has had a positive experience increases the possibility that they might say yes to the next candidate who approaches them.

Your work this week depends on what you submitted in Week 11. Feedback from your Chair or the IRB must be included in your IRB application and supplemental materials. You may not have received feedback from the IRB by the end of the week, so continue revising the chapters of the proposal to reflect any study changes and to prepare for the final manuscript.

Dropbox Assignment(s): In the Week 12 Dropbox, submit a report on progress on the IRB Application and development of the IRB materials to your Chair. If you have IRB approval and are in data collection, share an update on your progress. You must submit something to the course Dropbox each week.

If you have finished data collection, you must submit the appropriate Study Closure Form (IRB or NHSR) for approval. Refer to the Chapter Submission Instructions found in the Course Requirements section of the course to submit your forms.

Preview of the paper that will be due in next week having to do with the project. I will post this in a separate bid later on. I just thought it would be helpful for you to see while doing the project.

Throughout your practicum experience, you have been designing and implementing a project. You will now assess that experience. Prior to beginning this paper, discuss the topics below with your preceptor. Include their feedback as well as your own. In a 1,250-1,500 word document, discuss the following topics:

What was the focus of your leadership project, the goals you set for yourself, and the AONE competencies you hoped to achieve?

How did you discover the need for this project, and how did it fit into the organization’s philosophy and mission?

Did you encounter any real or potential barriers during your practicum experience related to your project?

Discuss how the outcomes of your project will be measured? Is your project one that is sustainable or is it designed to be a single occurrence?

Evaluate the success of your project. If you were not able to implement your project, discuss why. What are the next steps for the project?

Use a minimum of two peer-reviewed resources (published within the last 5 years) as evidence to support your views.
