REL2300 University of South Florida Hinduism Paper You have to write this paper, I’m providing the content, bullet points. Just rephrase whole paper in your own words if you find any mistakes which can be grammatical, sentence structure, spelling make them correct. This is about world religion course so if a sentence sound offending then please change it.It should be about 250 words, take those points from the attached document which you feel are importantI have uploaded 2 files, one is my paper and other is requirements for this paper. Rivers, mountains, animals and natural things that are useful for a human being are
revered in Hinduism. Hindus also worship these natural things. The belief arouses my
curiosity on the concept behind this. How did the Hindus come up with this belief? And
do Hindus believe that these are some of the ways to reach God.
I really found the Hinduism religion to be extremely dynamic and unique. I realized that
throughout the reading and videos that Hinduism was not at all what I thought. The only thing I
really knew about Hinduism was it was a religion with many gods. Though this is true, and may
have been a foundational representation of early Hinduism, I earned quit the opposite. I dont
understand how one comes to choose one from a multitude of options, but I suppose a majority
would be raised into their beliefs.
I completely agree with the Hindu religion and culture being flexible and widely
accepting. My way or the highway has been a repeated theme that we have seen thus far from
other religions. This makes me question the purity of the Hindu religion. What I mean by that is,
within Hinduism do people switch from one god to another, or one pathway to another often?
The video lecture mentioned that Hindu’s are widely accepted within their own religion, no
rejection of another’s belief or practice of Hinduism. How is this possible with small sects of
religious war currently going on in India?
I feel as though I have been sheltered from a world of religious knowledge. I was
shocked that Hinduism was noted as the oldest religion of all major religions. To me my history
started with Adam and Eve and the events of the Old Testament. To me its not hard to
distinguish between a right and wrong religion, but from a scholarly point of view we are not
here to do that. I personally find it hard to not be bias. It is difficult to accept such a complex and
diverse religion as one single religion, especially when there are so many small sects within
Hinduism. I am surprised that scholars can pinpoint the origin of Hinduism despite all of vast
places to start that search.
Overall Hinduism is really interesting but hard to grasp and understand as “the” largest
major religion. I am looking forward to seeing how this knowledge interact with the rest of the
world religions we will be diving into.
Hinduism is a really interesting religion because no one knows who the founder is, instead it
was developed out of Brahmanism. Some may consider it a religion but others a practice that
certain individuals tend to want to follow in order to live a certain life. For example, it follows a
standard of what you do rather than what you believe. Through reading, I know that Hinduism
was developed through Brahman and that it takes on many different forms. Does that mean
that those who believe in Hinduism actually support one god Brahman or multiple gods such as
Vishnu? Also, even after the reading Im still confused on whether or not Hinduism is actually
Brahmanism or if they are both different religions.
ONE THOUGHT PAPERS
The One Thought Papers are not regularly scheduled. The instructor will announce the call of a One Thought Paper by means
of the messaging system on Canvas, as well as announcements and/or mass emails. Students are to include their names on the
One Thought Papers. The papers are graded on the thoughtfulness of the students’ observations and question(s). They are not meant
for a student to simply repeat what he or she has learned on that religion or topic; no summaries. Rather, the student is to write about what
he or she finds the most interesting or most problematic and why. Students may also write questions on what they are learning, perhaps
on a topic not covered by the textbook or in class. Questions are limited to a maximum of two.
Rules for the One Thought Papers
If a paper is so poorly written (bad spelling, grammar or syntax), or merely a duplication of the contents of a textbook, then
it will receive 0 points
If a paper is submitted that has problems when it comes to spelling, grammar or syntax, but it is still readable, a percentage
of the grade will be deducted appropriate to that paper. So proofread your papers, use your spell checkers and grammar
checkers, etc.
Examples of point deductions: Not capitalizing proper names, such as typing ‘bible’ instead of ‘Bible,’ ‘christianity’ instead of
“Christianity, etc. Proper paragraphs rather than a single paragraph covering an entire page. Making certain that the use of ‘? is at
the end of an actual question. Unless you are writing about the deity of Christianity, Islam and Judaism, it should be ‘god’ or ‘gods.’
Remember that sentences that do not have a subject or a verb, are incomplete sentences at best.
If a student consistently ignores proofreading his or her papers, etc., the penalties will increase each time.
If a student submits a One Thought Paper and doesn’t include his or her name, the penalty is 20 points.
No late One Thought Papers will be accepted. Not being aware of emails, announcements or messages concerning One Thought
Papers are not valid excuses for not submitting.
Do not wait until the last moment to submit your paper, it might not make it on time! Plus, if a student has plans during the term, e.g.,
a vacation, that will not allow them to have access to the internet, no makeups for One Thought papers will be allowed.
Papers that are not single-spaced will be penalized by 10 points
Do not use PAGES, Google docs, WordPerfect or any of the open source’ versions of Word, WordPerfect or Office.
Do not submit your paper as a zip file or within a folder; just submit the document.
If a paper is considered frivolous, derogatory toward a religion or merely statements of faith (confessional), that paper will
not receive credit.
If the paper is merely a summary of what a student has learned, that paper will not receive credit.
Do not consider these papers as to be some sort of mini-research papers. They are informal reflections on what you are learning.
If students have submitted 60% or less of the One Thought Papers, then the One Thought Papers will become 30% of their
final grade, with the five exams reduced to 55% of the final course grade.
Do not use your phone to submit your One Thought Papers, because your submission might fail completely or partially.
Papers are due before 11:00 PM on the final due date.
NO WORD COUNT; remember they are one thought papers.
