The reading addresses the importance of and various approaches to meditation in the Buddhist tradition. Briefly describe the two types of meditation highlighted in the reading. After watching the video on Buddhist meditation which type of meditation do these monks seem to be practicing? Note the evidence you see in the video to support your answer.

What is mindfulness? How is it meant to work in meditation? How might it work in other aspects of one’s life?
