Everything will be based on estimation like( creating our own plan to open a restaurant, data, documents, and schedules….etc). DETAILS:                             In this project, you will create key project management document (deliverables) for a project of your choice. Choose a project based on consultation and approval for your teacher. Examples – Setting up a new restaurant, developing a website for online gift shop, starting a new branch in Sharjah, construction of a villa, etc.

PART 1 – Introduction (5 Marks)

Provide a brief background about the company and its strategy (goals/objectives/major plans/etc.). If you could not find their strategy or if it is a startup/imaginary company, you can develop your own strategy.(Keep in mind that the project you are about to select in PART 2, must align with the company strategy)

PART 2– Project Business Case (10 Marks)

Write a one-page business case to the senior management for the project approval. The business case should include the purpose of the project, high-level project scope, start date, end date, and budget. Make sure to explain how the project will support organizational strategy. PART 3 – Project Charter (10 Marks)

Prepare a project charter and get it signed from the project sponsor (Teacher will take a role of the project sponsor). Project charter must include details such as project objectives, purpose, high-level requirements, high-level risks, major limitations, proposed budget, high-level schedule, exit criteria, etc. You can use downloaded template from internet (for example – www.projectmanagement.com) and customize it.

PART 4 – Project Lifecycle Approach (5 Marks)

Briefly describe the project lifecycle and developmental approach selected for this project. (Predict or Adaptive) (How many phases and phase to phase relationship i.e. sequential or overlapping)

PART 5 – Project Scope Statement, WBS and WBS Dictionary (10 Marks)

Prepare a Project Scope Statement for your selected project. Scope statement should include project scope, major deliverables, assumptions, constraints, acceptance criteria and exclusions.

Prepare a WBS with at least 3 levels and 15 work packages. Choose any 3-work package and complete WBS Dictionary. You can use template for WBS Dictionary. You can use downloaded template from internet (for example – www.projectmanagement.com) and customize it.

PART 6 – Project Schedule and Budget (10 Marks)

Construct an activity network diagram using precedence diagramming method and apply critical path method to develop the project schedule. Project schedule must include at least 20 activities. You can use any software to construct the network diagram or paper and pencil.

 

Calculate total project cost by determining the resource requirements (Part 7) for the project. You need to estimate the cost for each work packages listed in your WBS (Part 5) and perform cost aggregation to determine the project budget.

PART 7 – Resource Estimation (15 Marks)

Estimate resource requirement for all work package developed in Part 5. Resources estimation includes people, equipment, materials, supplies, etc. You can use downloaded template from internet (for example – www.projectmanagement.com) and customize it.

PART 8 – Quality Management Plan (10 Marks)

Prepare a Quality management plan for you project that includes description of the overall approach to quality management, guidelines for all project processes and how they will be implemented, and a description of expected quality, testing, and inspection of

PART 9 – Risk Register and Response Strategy (15 Marks)

Identify potential risks in your project using any tools and techniques discussed in “Identify Risks” process in project risk management. You need to identify at least 10 risks and select an appropriate risk response strategy for each risk with explanation. PART 10 – Procurement Management Plan (10 Marks)

Prepare a procurement management plan detailing the items that needs to be procured from the supplier. Include details such as what, when, how and from whom to buy. Typical contract types to be used for each of the item that needs to be procured. Identify at least 5 items for procurement.
