Proposal for, Movie Data

Overview

The group project is an opportunity to gain real world exposure to an analytics project. Groups will explore a range of real world contexts with associated data sets; each group will choose one specific context on which to develop an insightful understanding of the associated data, based on an in-depth analysis using the analytical tools & techniques employed throughout the course; the insights thus gained will result in the presentation of credible recommendations on how to best proceed in the chosen context. The project starts with group formation (Team building), continues with the selection and detailing of a single context (Problem), progresses through analysis of collected data and results (Analysis), and concludes with reporting & communication of recommendations to improve the real world context under study, based on the results of the data analysis (Recommendations).

Proposal

The proposal indicates the selection of a single context and associated data set that the group is going to analyze and, ultimately, develop recommendations for. The specific proposal elements discussed below will be addressed in the group’s own words as they see it (i.e., do not just copy and paste from the original sources). The proposal will also include commentary on what others have done in the context.

For example, if the context is air quality, then there will be a commentary on other analyses, results, and recommendations in relation to air quality.
