Imagine that the fire marshal has asked you to give a presentation to a group of new fire academy students. The presentation will be about fire sprinkler systems. Using a building with sprinklers within your response area as the basis for your presentation, create a PowerPoint presentation that provides the information listed below.
Slide 1: Include a title slide.
Slide 2: Explain the effectiveness of automatic sprinklers in terms of life safety.
Slide 3: Discuss one common myth relating to automatic extinguishing agents.
Slide 4: Identify at least two types of automatic sprinkler heads and one type of specialty sprinkler.
Slide 5: Define temperature ratings, response time, and deflector components of sprinklers.
Slide 6: Differentiate between wet-pipe and dry-pipe sprinkler systems.
Slide 7: Explain deluge systems and pre-action systems.
Slide 8: Explain how a residential sprinkler system differs from a wet-pipe system in a commercial occupancy.
Slide 9: Explain impairments to proper sprinkler system operation and what can be done to avoid such impairments.
Slide 10: Include a references slide.
