The subject of the paper can be any topic of interest in Industrial Organizational
Psychology and students will be allowed to do research papers on a wide range of subjects
provided that they are completed using APA citation and reference style and follow the
syllabus guidelines. Research paper references must be scholarly such as (1) peer
reviewed journal articles; and (2) scientific books. All reference sources must be
paginated. Sources without page numbers cannot be used and these include electronic
online sources, Wikipedia, online blogs, online newspapers as well as non-peer reviewed
sources. When citing a reference, it is always important to make it clear to the reader
where they can go to find the quotation and the source of your information. There
should be at least one literary citation for every page of written content and no
less than 10 scholarly references for a 13 page paper. The paper structure should begin
generally then quickly narrow to look at your subject. APA research papers discussing
experimental studies include title page, abstract, running heads, methodology sections,
review of literature, discussion of results sections, and reference list. However, the class
APA research paper will have a title page, running head, [abstract is optional],
literature review and reference section. The methodology, and discussion of results
section would only be included if there were an experiment with an outcome. The main
purpose of the APA research paper is to demonstrate that students can do research
using scholarly sources outside of the primary text and complete a written assignment
using APA Style. THEREFORE, YOU CANNOT USE THE PRIMARY TEXT AS A SOURCE FOR
THE PAPER.
The number of pages and number of scholarly source references are important
criteria. The paper must have enough pages and scholarly sources to achieve the
grade indicated below. If your paper does not meet the following criteria you will
