Background information
There are important issues that face education policy makers on the amount that they
should pay the teachers and the ways to shape teachers’ salary schedule. It is argued increasing
teachers’ pay has the probability of improving the students learning outcomes through attracting
as well as retaining the best teachers or through impacting teachers’ efforts in teaching students.
When teachers have enough pay, they are motivated to work and to improve students learning
outcomes by incorporating all the relevant teaching methods (Imazeki & Jennifer, 2015).
However, when teachers receive little pay they have no morale to work since they feel
that their efforts are not well numerated and hence they will not be focused on the successes of
their students. There is an evident potential connection amid the teachers’ pay along with
students’ achievement. The main aim of this study is to offer proof on this connection such that
the policy creators can create decisions concerning the educator pay standards along with the
teacher’s schedule shape (not clear what you mean by “schedule shape” (Imazeki & Jennifer,
2015).
Most of the studies often show that there is no connection while some show that there is a
negative connection. Recent studies depict evidence that teachers pay and student performance
have a stronger relationship measured by the college dropout rates and the level of student
enrollment. It is challenging to justify this relationship amid district salary and student
achievement since there is no strong evidence concerning the connection ((Vigdor, 2018). There
are other factors that affect the level of student performance and teachers’ involvement and
morale has no great impact in student performance. However, it is also evident that student from
schools where teacher are paid more, student perform really well (Vigdor, 2018). There is a

different kind of motivation that teachers have when they have enough pay. Just like any other
job, when one feels that their job is appreciated they will be encouraged to give their best in the
job (Vigdor, 2018).
This research will offer proof that qualified teachers are known to be more creative when
it comes to raising students in achieving good results in a school year (Vigdor, 2018). To create
the relationship amid teacher pay and the student outcome, I will focus on addressing how salary
might be used in retaining teachers in a school, and improve teacher turnover over a given period
of time. I will share my outcome concerning how increasing the teachers’ pay is efficient and
reliable in holding the teachers that would have been substituted by unproven teachers.
Increasing instructor pay improves the average teacher experience (Vigdor, 2018). This research
will address how changing of teachers affect the students’ performance gradually since they do
not adopt any consistent teaching method that is effective to the students (Imazeki & Jennifer,
2015).
This research aims in supporting other research that has been carried out by several
authors concerning the relationship amid student performance and teachers’ pay. This research
will engage a more empirical plan that control district, time-varying institute along with the
characteristics of labor markets (Imazeki & Jennifer, 2015). This study will expose how
teachers’ pay impacts differ with the teachers’ involvement and explain how changes in the
teacher pay can well relate to student enactment in school and in career search (career search
implies high school seniors or college students) (Imazeki & Jennifer, 2015). This study will
contribute to literature by offering a robust as well as detailed approximations on teachers’ pay
and the turnover rates (do you want to add turnover, as that seem outside the scope of your

study). This will offer a large detailed dataset panel that allow labor to flabbergasted most of the
difficulties met by the diverse researchers (sentence unclear). Having this data I will be in a
position to estimate the teachers’ pay effects along with the flexibility that control changes with
distinct characteristics as well as changes in the labor markets (Imazeki & Jennifer, 2015).
My research will offer strong evidence on the strong negative casual connection amid
turnover, teachers’ pay and student performance. My estimates will explain that a one percent
increase in individual teacher pay reduces turnover by about 0.16%. (if your study is qualitative
you wont be able to show this…is your study quantitative, as you need to be specific on your
methodology) However, the effect of teachers pay will disappear after a few year of experience.
Combining the knowledge on teacher experience, I will show how accumulating teacher pay will
decreases teacher turnover and retain teachers which in turn increase teacher experiences in
schools which also improve students’ performance. I will also show how districts can advance
students outcome through adoption of the flat salary schedule, however this research will be
dependable on the teacher’s effort and selection which have not been tested (Vigdor, 2018).I will
show the size by showing how small effects of increasing teaches pay also have improved
teacher performance through diverse mechanism.
The study will be divided on four sections whereby, the first section will be the
introductory part of my research, section 2 will enhance the empirical archetypal with a relevant
discussion based on the theoretical links amid teacher pay, education and quality turnover.
Section 3 will explain the data and the other is section 4 which presents the reversion model as
well as results while section 5 deliberates insinuations of the consequences for district strategy as
well as student achievement while section 6 will conclude the research (Vigdor, 2018).

Purpose of the research
The main purpose of this research is to elaborate the importance of increases to teacher
pay which is likely to impact the quality of education by reducing the turnover (is the outcome
turnover or student achievement as you stated earlier) which is the main focus of the study. This
study aim on explaining teacher dynamic component for average teachers to advance teachers
experience. This research aims in explaining the efficiency on the wage concept which proposes
that advancement in the teacher pays and offering incentives for instructors that will exert more
exertion by accumulating morale and decreasing the drawback connected with effort-connected
job-termination. This research aims at explaining how teachers’ pay convinced advances in the
teacher effort that might seemingly top to a quantity of variations in educator performance that
are favorable to scholar knowledge, comprising: outlay much more time on preparation for
lecture, offering more as well as improved student response, outlay more period with scholars
separate of class, or even taking an increased active character in encouraging scholars
(Hanushek, 2017).
Methodology
This research will use diverse methodology to explain the relationship amid teachers’ pay
and students’ performance. This research will use managerial data attained from the Texas
Education Agency that covers the annual period from 1996-2012. This will be a teacher-level file
having more than 5 million teacher’s explanations that connects teacher knowledge, full-time
equality, degree, base-pay, and subject educated, gender as well as district affiliation. From these
statistics, I will build teacher rate of turnover along with the bachelor’s grade which vary through
district, experience and year.
THESIS PROPOSAL
7
To generate the turnover measure, I will implement the above description of the rate of
turnover measure, I will adopt the above definition rate of turnover for instructor with relevant
experience in the region during that year referred to as t (turnoverjte): Turnover definition do not
differentiate the types of turnover like teacher leaving the school in the district to go to a
different district or opting to leave the profession temporarily or completely (Burdett & Kenneth,
2018). I will ensure that I will restrict the analysis of my research to the districts that have fulltime teachers in every 336 years (336 years?) form 1996-2011 with the experience level from 020 years. In the samples that I will provide there will be 165 districts in the research sample that
employ full-time teachers with 336 cell-year-experience which will offer satisfaction to this
restriction. Samples that I will analyze has about 55,440 region-by-year-by-experience remarks
of turnover proportions.
Analytical Procedures
The research will have a table whereby table 1 will offer an overview of the information
by offering data on the experience turnover average rates, base pay as well as full-time teacher
equivalent across the 165 districts in the 16 years. The table will reiterate well documented
teacher labor characteristics. There will be two figures that is figure 1 and 2 which will depict the
salary schedule for the two largest school districts used in my sample (Akerlof & George, 2019).
The graphs will offer a sense of district variation of the 165 districts pay schedule found within
the sample. Each graph will be used to illustrate the kind of base pay variation that I will utilize
to assess the impact of teacher pay turnover rates. I will also use the empirical data to exploit the
differential variation of the teacher pay variation for every teacher pay in the district. I will use

the data provided in these districts to provide relevant prove of the connection amid teachers’
pay and student performance.

Literature Review Feedback:
You have a really good review of scholarly literature directly tied to your topic. You
included the results of past studies on this topic and did a great job discussing the issue
while integrating your literature. Its also great that you discussed relevant legislation. You
covered a great deal of pertinent factors such as the motivation of higher pay, differences
between teacher years of experience, and other motivational factors. The only thing you
would add is literature based on the theory driving your study, and also include this theory
in Chapter 1. Add a little more discussion at the end of how your study will fill a gap in the
current literature. This justifies why your study is needed.Your paper is well formatted,
and the flow of your discussion is great. See your returned paper for a few highlighted
errors. Overall, good formatting, grammar, spelling and citing of sources.
You have a great topic and its obvious the independent variable is teachers’ pay. However, you have
outlined several dependent variables including turnover and student achievement. Be specific on which
variables you are focusing on based on the data you outline you will obtain. For example, its not clear
how you will obtain turnover rates by district, or information on student achievement for teachers that
make more money. What teacher grade levels are you going to focus on? You want to add a clear
research question and problem statement that specifically states the goal of your research. Your paper
is well organized, with clearly outlined sections. See your returned paper for a number of grammatical
and spelling errors. You did a good job using relevant sources.
