Ohio Christian University Personal Values and Attitudes that Relate to Ethics Essay Analyze personal values and attitudes that relate to the Ethics of Referral in the Human Services field. Table 2.2 of your readings examines ethical principles regarding objectivity. We are engaging in self-examination during this first week of the course as our personal attitudes, values, and beliefs will undoubtedly impact our professional interactions with clients in some way. We may have personal feelings that lead to perceptions that will affect the advice or guidance that we provide to clients. As Christians, we have religious viewpoints and principles that guide every aspect of our own lives, however these may clash with certain ethical situations presented.It is then important that we acknowledge this as a reality, and understand that in some cases we may not be able to objectively help our clients due to our own personal belief system. This should not to be viewed as a failure but, rather, that there may be other professionals or resources who can better serve the client. We are ethically obligated to provide the client with the best and most effective helping experience, even if we may not be the ones who are directly providing the aid.

Choose one of these areas, or you may choose an issue of your own, and provide a personal reflection on your opinions, attitudes, and values on the issue.
Provide a paragraph that discusses how these personal opinions, attitudes, and values may affect the way that you interact with a client who is experiencing a scenario which involves this specific issue.
Provide at least two possible agencies or resources that you could refer the client to if you feel that you, as a professional, are not able to objectively and ethically help them due to personal opinion or bias. Be sure to provide a rationale for why these resources would be appropriate forms of referral.
