Laws of Motion to Rigid Body Problems in Translational & Rotational Motions Lab should be able to:  Apply laws of motion to rigid body problems in translational and rotational motions  Analyze PN junction characteristics.  Comprehend Bohr atomic model and photo electric effects F/QAP/021/001
Task(s)
Answer the following questions:
1.
Shear force is the force in the beam acting perpendicular to its longitudinal axis and
a bending moment is defined as the reaction that occurs in a structural element when an
external force is applied to the element causing the bending. With reference to the free
body diagram shown in Figure 1,

Please note: The values of the external forces at B and C, Reaction support RD must be
different among students. The external force at B can be between 25 kN to 35 kN. The
external force at C can be between 55 kN and 65 kN. RD can be between 5 kN and 15 kN.

Suggest and explain any one application of a PN semiconductor diode with a neat
sketch.

Analyze the condition of the PN diode with explanations, when it is heavily doped
than the normal one in terms of the depletion region, electric current passage
through it. Use sketches to illustrate the analysis.

Guidelines for writing the report:
All the answers should be typed and submitted in a report form. Certain
diagrams/figures/sketches can also be drawn using pencil and embedded in soft copy
form in the report.
Paper: White A4 sheet size. Margin: Left 1.5”, top 1”, right 1” and bottom 1”.
Typing :
Main Heading: Arial Bold, Black, size 12 ( e.g. 1.1 Atomic model)
Sub Heading : Arial Bold, Black, size 11 (e.g. 1.1.1 Applications )
Body text: Arial, size 11, Colour: Black
Figure and Table (if any) captions: Arial, size 11
All the typed text colours must be in black.
Decimal type notations will be used for numbering the figures/photos, charts, tables and
Drawings (e.g. Figure 3.2, Table 4.2, etc., if any)
Equations (if any) should also be numbered in decimal type notation within the brackets.
