Over the semester, each student will present a PR case study. Starting in Week 3, on most Wednesdays, students will present case studies. For the case study, each student should pick one PR case relevant to the topic of the day (see topics for each week in the course schedule) from the optional textbooks listed below. Students who are unable to find a case should reach out to the instructor ASAP.

Presentations should include (1) a summary of the case, (2) an analysis and a critique of the case, and (3) students’ conclusions. In the summary, students should provide enough information about the case, including what an organization’s problem and situation was, why the organization needed PR activities, what the organization did, etc. In the analysis and critique, students need to discuss whether the organization did a good or bad job. In this part, students can compare their own case to other case(s) and apply any theories they have learned in this class or other classes. In the conclusion, students need to determine whether the case is good to use as a benchmark as an excellent campaign. All three parts are important. For the case study VI through X, students should apply at least one theory that they have learned from this class in analyzing the case.

Each presentation will take about 15 minutes and a 5-minute Q&A session will follow.
