International Comparison: Is America so Exceptional?

to find an article in the media, either mainstream publications or those related to the charitable sector, (e.g. Chronicle of Philanthropy, Nonprofit Quarterly), related to the topic of that day’s class. The purpose of this assignment is to relate contemporary events and debates to the larger themes addressed in this course. [L2, L3, L4, L5]

For the week due, find a recently published/produced (within the last month) media artifact (newspaper article, video, etc.) that addresses a theme of the week’s readings. Post a discussion piece from 250-500 words in which you.

1. Cite your source and include a link.
2. Summarize the point of the piece. What makes it newsworthy or worthy of production at this time?
3. Summarize the argument.
4. Indicate who the author/producer is and what biases he or she may have.
5. Relate the artifact to at least one of the readings from the week in question. This is an important part of the post and should be at least 200 words. What is new or different in the artifact compared to the readings?  What commonalities are there?
