Individual Disaster Preparedness Project (20%)
Every student should individually demonstrate concepts of disaster preparedness to their personal situations in an individual project. The project will be graded based on originality (5), creativity (5), accuracy (5) and applicability (5). Students must ensure that they clearly explain/identify what type of disaster(s) they are creatively demonstrating that they are prepared for. For example, if you live at the base of a steep mountainside that is also within the floodplain, it would be a good idea to indicate this situational information.

The following are acceptable project for submission and presentation: Video Clip or short movie, Kaltura (in your BlackBoard), digital posters, website, Short book, and Music Jingle. Students who would like to submit and present a project other than those listed above should meet with the instructor before working on their individual projects. This is an opportunity to exercise creative freedom – students need to ‘think outside of the box’.
