HUM 112 Strayer Univeristy Contemporary Leadership Transformations Discussion Each week you will be given three or four questions pertaining to important topics covered in the materials provided in the question itself, the textbook, the lectures, the other materials provided, and my comments in my Live Session. You choose the one question you like and post a response of 125 words or more. You also need to respond to another post from one of your fellow students. This second post should be at least 60 or so words long and should not just agree with or repeat what has been said.

Imagine that you have been sent by Starfleet Command or by your boss (whichever you prefer to report to) to observe two foreign and strange civilizations. One civilization is called “the Absolutist France of Louis XIV” and the other is called “the Absolutist England of Charles I”. Each has certain defining characteristics and one man’s outcome was very different from the other’s. How was their approach to ruling different and similar? Was one more successful than the other?
Although they lived in different countries and long after Caravaggio, both the work of Nicolas Poussin in France and Diego Velasquez in Spain, show his influence. Using specific examples from each artist, show describe changes you see in their art from those of the early Baroqe we discussed last week. How did each man’s approach to art and life come through in the messages in their paintings?
Using specific examples from their work, explain whether Thomas Hobbes or John Locke would be the strongest supporter of Absolutism. Why? Why is the other one not as strong in their support?
