not​ count as a page).​ Do not treat this assignment as a book report i.e. retelling events
that you have read. Instead, write the essay by researching, evaluating, and analyzing
the readings. I highly encourage you to begin identifying your sources immediately.
Important guidelines to follow for this assignment. ​ You are ​REQUIRED​ to cite a
minimum of ​two primary and two secondary sources​. For the purpose of this report,
images and oral interviews are not permitted as one of your two primary sources. You
are also required to cite each source at least once. For each citation, bold the last
name of the author. You only need to do this once.
Refrain from using nonacademic websites such as Wikipedia. Do not use the
encyclopedia for any of your citations.
If you are quoting an author make sure you cite them, however, use quotes succinctly.
Do not include block quotes, which means quotes longer than three sentences.​ The
bulk of the essay should be written by you. Your paper should include an introductory
paragraph, thesis, and a conclusion. Please use the MLA format (refer to the course
