Glasgow Caledonian University how Pandemic Is Affecting Delta Airlines Paper This week, we will share our podcasts with the class while applying the qualities of effective presentation content from previous modules. We will also practice what we’ve learned in Module 7 about connecting with our audience through our presentation delivery. As NPR podcaster Glen Weldon says, a podcast should focus on natural and authentic delivery.

Develop a 5-7 minute podcast episode that aligns with your group’s chosen podcast theme from Group Project Part 1 and that applies instructor and peer feedback from Group Project Part 2.
Your podcast should use the outline provided in Group Project Part 2. Consider timing:
Introduction with attention-getter (10% of podcast)
Body (80% of podcast)
Conclusion with summary and clincher (10% of podcast)
Be sure to carefully review the outline instructions as well as all previous instructor and classmate feedback to do your best work on your podcast’s content!

Important Information:
What I want from you on this assignment is to write a script for the podcasts episode that you have researched and written about. As shown above, I must speak for five to seven minutes, so the script that you will write should be between this time. Because it is a podcast episode, the script should be natural or spontaneous, so please write the script in a normal way. I am not a fast speaker and English is not my native language, so keep that in mind. Do not use difficult, complicated, or difficult to spell words. Write in a very easy language.
I will attach to you the outline and research that you have done. I have modified a slight amendment to the introduction and the end in the outline because it is a group project, so this should be a consideration. Running Head: HOW IS THE PANDEMIC AFFECTING AIRLINES?

Research: How is the pandemic affecting Airlines?
For my podcast episode, I will use information from the sources below.
1. Staff Writer. (2020, March 10). Delta Actions to Address Financial Impact of COVID19. Retrieved from Delta News Hub: https://news.delta.com/delta-actions-addressfinancial-impact-covid-19
This source addresses the financial impact of COVID-19 on Delta Airlines. According to
this article, the company’s top priority is to protect the health and safety of its employees and
customers. Furthermore, the airline company has responded to the decrease in demand by
removing 15 system capacity points. The company has also embarked on a cost reduction strategy
and cash flow enhancing initiatives to protect its financial position.
I will use the information from the source to support the impact of COVID-19 on the airline
company. For instance, this source addresses the financial impact of the virus. Notably, the first
impact that I have identified in my podcast outline is reduced revenue. I will thus use the article to
show how the virus has reduced the company’s revenue by resulting in a decrease in demand. I
will cite this source orally by including its title, name of website, the work’s author and the date.
1. Booker, B. (2020, May 14). Delta To Retire 777 Fleet As Demand For Travel Plummets
Amid Coronavirus. Retrieved from NPR: https://www.npr.org/sections/coronavirusliveThe above source is a website that addresses what Delta Airlines has done to cope up with
the decrease in the demand for travel. According to Booker, the airline company has embarked on
significant cost-saving strategies such as retiring its fleet and removing high maintenance jets to
safeguard Delta’s future and jobs. Booker also mentions that the airline company expects to be

operating a smaller network because of reduced consumer demand for travel. According to him,
Delta Airlines has had to receive federal funding to help from widespread layoffs.
This source’s information will help draw supporting points about how COVID-19 has
resulted in reduced revenue and discouraging growth rate for Delta Airlines. The article shows
how the virus has resulted in reduced consumer demand. This consequently translates to reduced
revenue and discouraging growth rate. The article also highlights the financial aid that Delta
Airlines has had to receive. I will use to point to expand on how COVID-19 has resulted in
increased costs for the company. I will cite this source orally by mentioning its title, name of
website, its author and the date.

The COVID-19 pandemic has affected all the industries. However, the airline industry has
probably been hit the hardest. This podcast aims to show the impact of COVID-19 on Delta
Airlines and how the company is coping with the effects. Some of the notable effects include a
significant decrease in revenue, discouraging results in growth rate, and increased costs. Delta
Airlines is at a “hold” right now until the pandemic ends. It will likely take a while for the airline
company to get back to normal. For excitement, the third podcast episode will be about United
Airlines to complete our coverage of the impact of the epidemic on airlines. Nevertheless, the
mitigation strategies such as cutting costs and implementing strategies to reduce the spread of the
virus is certainly vital steps to keep the company afloat.
