For this assignment, you will be using the general procurement process identified in the readings and lecture and applying procurement and resource management processes to your chosen project.

Essential Components & Instructions

This assignment is completed in two parts. First, using your chosen project that you submitted as part of Lesson 1, complete the following items:

Stakeholder Register / Analysis:

Create a sourcing strategy based on your interpretation of the procurement and resource needs of your project. Utilize your Cost Management Plan, Ms Project file, and Week 5 lectures as a starting point for this assignment.   Your sourcing strategy should include at a minimum:

 

  • Cover Page
  • Project overview, scope, and requirements, etc.
    • This is your Scope Statement from your Cost Management Plan. Please be sure to incorporate previous feedback.
  • Resource list
    • Referencing your Ms Project file, identify at least 4 (materials), 3 (equipment), and 2 (human) resources that will be needed to complete your project.
  • Make vs. buy analysis
    • Identify two items within the resource list (material, equipment, or human) of which you will need to go out for contracted services. Provide an explanation of why these item needs to be outsourced.
  • Sourcing strategy
    • For the items identified, develop a sourcing strategy (RFI, RFQ, or RFP). The sourcing strategy should contain at a minimum (statements of work (SOW), key definitions, pricing/submittal instructions, timeframes, proposed contract types, etc.)
    • Please note that the sourcing strategy should be in a format ready for distribution to sellers.
  • Source selection criteria
    • For the item identified, provide a criteria matrix by which you will qualify each supplier for the material or equipment they are providing.
  • Glossary
    • Provide definitions for unique procurement terms, initializations, or acronyms used in the sourcing strategy documents.

Below are some key guidelines you will want to ensure you follow in all three elements of this assignment. Think of this short list as a quality control checklist, along with the attached grading rubric.

  • Final assignment should be submitted as a single file (MsWord or .pdf)
