FUNDAMENTALS OF NEWS MMC 208

Radio Project 1

You’ll produce one 5-7 minute radio show. You may do a NEWSCAST ONLY or a mix of INTERVIEWwith NEWSCAST. If you do the interview portion it will require you to interview someone and takesound bites from the interviews.

Ideally, you’ll record “natural sound” (also can be found online) from an event having to do with the story and include it in the piece

Again, the best of these will be added to the CMMC.AUE.AE page. The signoff /“lockout” for all

Radio shows should be, “I’m _______,CMMC NEWS, Goodnight.”

You will use the program “AUDACITY, link to download

If you have another software, you may use it, but if the audio quality is not good, it will hurt your grade. Maintain standards of good taste (if in doubt ask).

A radio magazine feature receiving an “A” will:

1. Be completed on time.

2. Uploaded successfully to MS TEAMS AND AKADEMIA

3. Clearly present understandable, interesting and newsworthy stories.

4. Contain the “I’m _______, CMMC NEWS, Goodnight.” lockout.

5. Have good quality announcing (you MUST do the announcing yourself).

6. Maintain a balance between your script and sound bites (it should not be “all” script or “all” sound bites).

7. Contain a minimum of 12 sound bites; sound bites should be no longer than 20 seconds.

8. Contain sound bites from at least four different people, who are knowledgeable and authoritative on the topic (your pals may or may not fit this description).

9. (The submitted script will be): typed and free of more than two spelling or grammatical errors.

10. Contain natural sound that is appropriate to the story.

11. Be 5-7 minutes in length.

12. Have high-quality audio throughout; not too high, not too low, no distortion.

13. End with the appropriate lockout (see above).

REMEMBER I NEED YOUR SCRIPT+ YOUR AUDIO. SCRIPT WILL BE PROJECT 1 and AUDIO WILL BE PROJECT 2!!!!
