Write this summary as if you were explaining special education to someone who was unfamiliar with the concept. In thinking about your summary, consider the issues that the community, state, and/or the federal government could address to improve services to students with disabilities (2 points). Include at least two citations from course text or websites (1 point).

3.Discussion board creation (15 points). One of the primary components of Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is to improve student engagement in their learning. Now is your opportunity to think creatively and design a discussion board that you think would enhance student engagement in an online experience.

(a) The discussion board must align with one of our weekly themes (refer to the syllabus). State the theme/Week of your discussion board (1 point).

(b) Provide the link to at least one video or free online resource/website/activity that has not been used in the course. Provide a brief description of why you selected the video or resource (2 points).

(c) Create two questions that will have students engaging in your discussion board make connections between the online resource or video and the readings from the week (4 points).

(d) Provide an example of an ideal or “full point” initial post. The length for this part should be the same length as a typical initial post for a discussion board. In other words, write a post answering your own questions (8 points).
