UNDERLINE each of these key terms in your answers. These will come from the textbook chapters and secondary and primary sources from the same unit as your chosen question. It is up to you to use your critical judgment to choose eight of the most important key details.  *Each of your answers should also discuss your prompt from at least two (2) historical perspectives (for example, political, social, cultural, economic, ideological, legal, military, etc.). Put an asterisk * at the start of each of these two sections. Again, all the information for the two historical aspects that you choose will come from the textbook chapters and secondary and primary sources from the same unit as your chosen question. (*Remember to underline each of your eight (8) key terms in your answers and put an asterisk * by each of the two sections in which you discuss your prompt from specific historical perspectives (for example, political, social, cultural, economic, ideological, legal, military, etc.).)  * Your key terms can (and probably will) overlap with your historical perspectives. That is you will probably introduce, define, and discuss relevant key terms as you discuss your chosen historical perspectives.  *Make sure that you also tell the historical story in your answer. By this I mean that history writing unfolds as a story about events that happen in a chronological sequence and that have some kind of connection to one another. So do not use bullet points or just list key terms, details, and facts.  * you do not need to follow an essay format with an introduction and conclusion. You can just get right to it and answer the question. Your exam should be well-written, professional, and edited, but your structure can be basic. I will grade on the information you provide not the structure of your answer.  *You should use efficient and relevant “direct quotes” from your primary source, but do not directly quote from the textbook or any secondary source; paraphrase or summarize and cite with a footnote instead (in Word click References > Insert Footnote). *Make sure that your answers are professional and edited for grammar, spelling, syntax and clarity and make sure it is clear which prompt you are answering.              FORMATTING INSTRUCTION *You should use size 11 font, 1” margins, Calibri or Times New Roman font, and 1.15 spacing, with appropriate paragraph gaps throughout. *All information in the body of your paper that is not general knowledge, or your own original analysis and ideas must be appropriately cited in in-text citations and footnotes throughout (Chicago or MLA style; in Word click References > Insert Footnote).
