EMS programs, such as a basic EMT or paramedic program, use a number of standard evaluation tools. Your program director is looking for examples of best practices and new tools to use in the evaluation of student competency in entry-level provider programs.
Using what you have learned in this unit and research conducted by searching the CSU Online Library, you will prepare a proposal for the program director with your recommendations for specific tools that can be used to evaluate cognitive, psychomotor, and affective domain objectives.
You will recommend two tools that are suitable for each domain (for a total of six tools, as no tool should be repeated). Your proposal should address, at a minimum, the following areas:
a brief overview of the evaluation tool that speaks to its purpose, impact, reliability, and validity; and
examples of EMS objectives where the tool would be effective.
Your proposal should be a minimum of three pages in length, not counting the title and reference pages. It should contain an insightful and thorough analysis of the evaluation tools with strong arguments and evidence to support your recommendations.
A minimum of three sources are required to support your proposal, one of which must be from the CSU Online Library. All sources should be properly cited. Your essay, including all references, should be formatted in APA style.
