Discussion Board and respond to classmates

Description

Unit 8 Discussion board Do you think we should be responsible for the consequences for our acts of omission? Do you think withholding something to save lives is similar to actively killing?  If a child in front of us asks for food and we reject the food to the child and the child dies as a result, are we responsible for the child’s death?  Likewise, if we can reasonably afford to feed the hungry (the strangers) and if we don’t, are we responsible for their death? Why? Or Why not? Explain your answer using Utilitarian theory, Kantian Deontology theory, and Humian sentiments theory.  Unit 3-Readings Attached Files:  Singer-FAMINE, AFFLUENCE, AND MORALITY.pdf (88.646 KB)  Patton-Hunting the poor.pdf (950.192 KB)  Descartes Passions of the Soul.pdf (204.214 KB)  David Hume on Concern For Others.docx (28.051 KB)  Aristotle’s Definition of Virtue.doc (42 KB)  Hardin Against Famine Relief.pdf (252.901 KB) Unit 8 videos Click on the folder to watch the videos for this unit.  Unit 8 videos Click on the folder to watch the videos for this unit.  The discussion questions    Unit 8 Discussion board Do you think we should be responsible for the consequences for our acts of omission?
