Diablo Valley College R & B Branches 1960s Discussion As R&B branches out after the 1960s, there are more and more fantastic artists to discuss. So…in this discussion thread (as in your Ch 14 thread), I want YOU to become the teacher and help to bring the picture of post-60s R&B into focus. Please pick one R&B artist from a genre covered in Chapter 16 that is NOT discussed in our PowerPoint or module pages and do a brief biographical treatment of them (just like in your Chapter 14 discussion assignment). Make sure to discuss the style they recorded in and what was unique about their music. You can choose an artist from these genres: Funk, Disco, Hip-Hop, Turntablism. If you’re not sure whether or not your artist is applicable to our discussion…just ask me. Please remember that this is a discussion. I expect you to ‘converse’ back and forth and not just leave everything till the last minute. So, your primary post will be due by the end of this week and your two response posts will be due by the end of next week. Ready…steady…GO!
