CRJ 4002 South University Week 1 Restorative Justice System Report For this assignment, you will work towards developing a restorative justice program into the criminal justice system. Each week, you will be completing a part of the assignment by adding content for that week, based on the content covered in the week.

You have recently been assigned the job of assistant to commissioner Jonathan Samuels, who decided to start a coalition for restorative justice to be incorporated in the criminal justice system. As Samuels’ assistant, you will be responsible for putting notes together for his upcoming strategic planning meeting.

Using the South University Online Library or the Internet, research about the current restorative practices within the criminal justice system and the correctional statistics of your locality.

Based on your research, create a report in a 3- to 4-page Microsoft Word document, which includes the following:

An overview of what you learned this week about the developmental process of a restorative justice system
A plan for a restorative justice community proposal for the commissioner to present at the Community Involvement Initiative Drive
A needs assessment to determine your program goals
A plan for adversity, which includes key points in dealing with the challenges you believe the correctional community will pose
A detailed report on the restorative justice system
An assessment of restorative resources or programs, if any, which are currently being offered by the local criminal justice system
The needs for forming a restorative system in the criminal justice system
Specific goals that can be achieved based on the assessed needs of your local system

Support your responses with examples.
