COM201 Presentation Assignment

Select a topic of your choice according to the criteria of topic selection. Narrow down your topic, and make sure it is relevant to your audience (your classmates).

Search about your selected topic to develop your main ideas, sub-ideas, and appropriate supporting materials such as, examples, narratives, analogies etc. Your presentation should contain maximum three main ideas, and 2-3 sub-ideas for each main idea.

Prepare a 5-minute speech following the instructions of presentation organization including: organizational patterns, establishing credibility, and outlining. Your presentation should consist of an introduction, body, conclusion, and a reference list. Those components need to be connected together with transitions and signposts.

For this presentation you are required to:

1) Make an effective visual aid (PowerPoint)

2) Prepare a sentence outline; and

3) Practice the delivery of your presentation

Remember you need to prepare the content of your presentation and pace your speech within the time limit allocated for your presentation.

As an alternative to Major 2:

The PowerPoint and outline should be submitted on Moodle under Outline and PowerPoint, and they are due on Thursday, April 2^nd, 2020 at midnight.

Final presentations are assigned on google document, and each student is responsible to be prepared for the day selected for her presentation.
