Boston University ?Cost Tracking in Projects Break Down Structure Discussion If you work on projects, tell us about how your project costs are tracked in your organization. If you don’t, what kind of tracking would you propose to find out the ACTUAL costs spent on the various tasks? Remember that employees could potentially work on multiple tasks in a reporting period, and these tasks could even be on different projects! Even your author lists recurring “project management” kinds of tasks in some WBS examples. Why are these NOT items in a WBS, and why do they tend to be included in the WBS and/or project Gantt chart anyway? If you do put them in the Gantt, how should they be handled differently in terms of dependencies and other things you learned about scheduling?
