You should be familiar with the components of a book conference (personal involvement, general comprehension, skills, and oral reading for an audience) by doing the following:

1. Watch the voice over power-point on Bb Assignments.
2. Watch the 2  Book Conference videos ( one – 3^rd grade, one – 5^th grade) on Bb Course Documents.
3.  Look at your packet (p. 189-196) for potential questions under each category and decide which questions would best fit the book you have read.
4. You will be both the teacher and the student at times in this assignment.
   1.  Section 1: Teacher- In this section, you will be the teacher crafting questions for the Historical Fiction book that you have read to be asked of the student.

Since the books you and your classmates have read are commonly read by average middle grade students, use the Common Core State Standards (CCSS) for Literature to guide your planning for the comprehension and skills section. Be sure to plan questions that tap the 3^rd and 4^th grade CCSS Reading Sandards for Literature (pp. 61-64) for Comprehension and Skills. Use the questioning handouts in your packet  to support your efforts. (pp. 179-181)
