This assignment has five parts; each is to be in 12 pt. Times-Roman with double spacing.
All five are weighted equally with approximately 400 words minimum for each.

Part 1. For: Module 2, Objective 1: After completing this module you will be able to identify and define the key
legal concepts relating to the field of Business Ethics, ethos, contract law. – Define ethos and explain how it
relates to conformity expectations and workplace culture. Define contract law and give a brief overview of its
key components. Then tell how Mesher’s and Gilmore’s views on contract law relate to ethos.
Part 2. For: Module 2, Objective 2: After completing this module you will be able to identify the core issues
surrounding the topic of social justice theory. – Bigotry and discrimination are core topics in social justice. Go
to the top of “Course Content” and open the PowerPoint titled: “Your Textbook Readings List” and from readings
Roehling (2002), Vega & Comer (2005), or McCarty (1988), chose the one you feel most relevant to social justice.
Cite it and the topic in Module Two to which you feel it relates. Provide a brief review of your chosen article and
a discussion outlining your own views.
Part 3. For: Module 2, Objective 3: After completing this module you will be able to identify the core issues
surrounding the topic of corporate social responsibility. – (Option 1) Outline what this module has to say about
the history of CSR and then, lightly review in your own words the issues raised by Friedman. Conclude with
your own views on this debate. Or do: (Option 2) Outline Moser (1986) on CSR in your “textbook” using APA
in-text citation and conclude with your views on what Martin Moser had to say.
Part 4. For: Module 2, Objective 4: After completing this module you will be able to explain how corrupt
practices in international trade are legally managed. – (Option 1) This topic is well covered in Unit 5. In your
own words, outline what it has to say. Or do: (Option 2) Outline Nardin (1992) on international law in your
“textbook” using APA in-text citation and conclude with your views on what Terry Nardin had to say.
Part 5. For: Module 2, Objective 5: After completing this module you will be able to explain how Supreme Court
decisions have redefined the legality of business ownership. – This is covered as the last item (5.1.5) under statute
law in Unit 5. The past few years have seen one small business after another legally challenged for invoking its
owner’s religious values into workplace practices. Briefly outline the trend covered by the Lochner – West Coast
Hotels- Perry cases and then choose one from the many current debates, e.g. Chick Filet, over business ownership
rights that interests you. Cite the online source where it can be found, review it, and discuss the implications of
the Supreme Court trend with respect to what you think will eventually happen.
