Read the essay “A Modest Proposal” by Jonathan Smith. Reflect on the argument, such as you may consider if it evokes pathos, ethos or logos. Some questions to ask while reading: Do any style techniques stand out? Does the use of humor make the argument more convincing? Your proposal should be 1-2 pages in critical essay form with in-text citations if needed.   Essay should have an introduction, at least three body paragraphs and a conclusion. Your proposal should show experimentation with style and humor. For example, you may use repetition or exclamation points.   See if using a series of questions might have a strong effect, whether exclamation points would add or detract from the message you want to send, and so on. Finally, consider the examples of figurative language in the Swift essay and include at least two in your review, such as: metaphor, simile, hyperbole, understatement, rhetorical questions, antonomasia, anaphora, etc.
