It is important for academic leaders to understand how to build a plan and implement it. In your readings, you have been given examples of planning at the academic leadership level, especially in how it relates to the assessment of an institution of higher education.

For this assignment, select an area where you feel an institution of your choice (real or hypothetical) is not excelling. For example, you may select professional development for faculty or technology in teaching and learning. Develop a comprehensive plan to help in this area, by writing a paper in which you detail your recommendations.

Your paper should include the following:

An assessment of contemporary concepts, principles, and ideas related to your selected area
An evaluation of the principles and best practices associated with institutional effectiveness in that area
Recommended practices that ensure high levels of institutional effectiveness in that area
An assessment of how the improvement you are suggesting will impact academic program evaluation
A plan for effective evaluation
An analysis of the key features of evaluation models for the selected area
The professional standards as guiding principles to make judgments and decisions for that area
