I am happy to write a letter of recommendation for you! The first step in this process is for you to write
a draft for me. I will edit, modify or change this draft as appropriate. Your draft should have three
paragraphs and be in the Business letter format.
The first paragraph should be a few sentences indicating how I know you. The second and longest
should list your skills, knowledge and special attributes. Pay attention to the job description or school
requirements. The third paragraph should have a statement letting them know that they can contact me
if they want additional information.
Please include the email or ground address.
The benefit of you drafting the letter is that you know your skill set better than I do and you know the
requirements of the job. Once I receive your word doc, it will take me up to three weeks to do my part.
Lastly, please remind me if your grade and papers or presentations you made in class. I would also
appreciate if you would attach a picture of yourself.
Please make sure you waive your rights to access and recommendation in order for the
recommendation to have maximum impact.
