This assignment is worth 100 points (20% of your grade). The first page should only have your name, the date due, and the class name (HIST 1302
– US History 2). Your paper should begin on page 2. Your paper should be formatted as double spaced. Times New Roman, font 12, and a
minimum of 350 words.
Your paper will be a response paper to a video from the Eye on the Prize series. You will write an essay – not MLA. APA. or Chicago
Style. Your
response will be graded on how well you can persuade me in your understanding of the topic, not so much that it is the correct answer. Please give
more than, “My significant other said so.” or “I saw it on Wikipedia; therefore, it must be true.” I want you to critically think about the setting, the
era, and the surrounding circumstances of the piece(s) you are reacting to. If you do use a direct quote, please be sure to cite it in order to avoid
plagiarism!
Your paper should provide your thoughts/perspective of the video (1/2 of the paper) and how you see things today regarding how far African
American Civil Right has come (1/2 of your paper). I want to know about the true journey that Africans Americans have made over the past 50 years
and where they are today/or are going in the future.
