Georgetown College Importance of Exercising Social Responsibility Discussion Prompt : THE IMPORTANCE OF EXERCISING SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY

Essay must be in APA formatting and include all components [introductory paragraph, thesis statement, body (2 paragraphs), and a conclusion paragraph –with a separate reference page] your thesis statement should be one sentence, and it should be the last sentence of your introductory paragraph. Underline your thesis statement.

How to Write the Essay:

-Begin with a once-sentence thesis statement that directly addresses the prompt. Keep it simple!

-Work on the body of your essay next. Be sure that you directly address and support your thesis statement. Two paragraphs for the body is the minimum requirement, but if you have more to say, you can add an additional body paragraph.

-After you have proofread your thesis and body, then you can write an introductory paragraph that introduces the topic to your readers. Your thesis statement should be the last sentence of your introductory paragraph –and it should be underlined.

-Be sure that you have adequate in text citations (references) throughout your essay.

-You should have a reference page at the end of your essay. This should be a separate page.You should have at least 5 references!

-Make sure that your in-text citations and your reference page are in APA formatting.

-A cover page and headers/footers are NOT required, but if you are using an automatic APA formatting program, you may include both.
