BUS 517 Strayer Implementation of 5G Network Architecture Proposal In Assignment 1, you have defined key portions of your project. Now, it is time to develop a Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), and project schedule for your project. Note: Please use the project from Assignment 1 to complete this assignment, which requires that you develop a WBS & Project Schedule for your project.
This assignment requires you to:
Create a WBS for your project using the proper format (MS Word, MS Excel, Visio, or any other applicable format) to depict WBS graphically (see Figure 4.4 from Chapter 4 of the Larsen textbook). Alternatively, you may use a coded format using MS Word (See Exhibit 4.1 from Chapter 4 of the Larson textbook as an example. The example is in MS Project format but the same could be done in MS Excel).
Create a project schedule that lists all of the core activities, dates (start & finish), and resources to complete your project. While it is recommended that you use MS Project, you can use MS Excel to create your schedule. Your project schedule must contain at least 30 separate activities/tasks.
The specific course learning outcomes associated with this assignment are:
Develop a project plan including the critical elements of project scope, priorities, Work Breakdown Structure (WBS), and communication plan.

Introduction
Mobile communication is an essential service in the modern world. Parties require to
communicate on different agendas every time. Efficiency in mobile communication entails the
timely delivery of the critical message in the right form. Technological advancements have
introduced modernized techniques to combat the challenges encountered in transferring different
types of information from one party to the other. However, data speed in the delivery of
telecommunication services poses a massive problem in communication. The introduction of 5G
networks offers a lucrative chance to end such challenges and enhance effectiveness in
communications services’ delivery. This paper gives an overview of a project aimed at installing
5G network systems in Verizon Wireless Telecommunications Company to ensure better service
delivery to the customers.
Project Summary
Verizon Wireless is among the largest telecommunication companies in the United States.
The company offers a wide range of telecommunication services to millions of United States
nationals (Barry, 2018). However, some clients do not get fully satisfied due to ineffective data
speed provided. To enhance customer satisfaction, the company has decided to incorporate 5G
networks in its systems. The project requires capitation and planning to ensure success. The key
objectives of the project are; enhancement of customer satisfaction, improvement of service
delivery, and development of the customer base. The project’s goals include; provision of 5G
networks to customers, provision of faster data speed, and provision of reliable communication
services.

Goals and Objectives
As the project manager, I am responsible for ensuring that the goals and objectives of the
project are in line with its goals and objectives. Today’s society requires effectiveness and
efficiency in data transfer from one party to the other. Some industries require higher data speed
due to the nature of content transmitted. The entertainment industry is among the sectors that
need high data transmission speed. High Definition videos and other pictorial materials are quite
large hence requiring higher data speed (Gnanavel & Ramakrishnan, 2018). Better quality
transmission entails faster data speed. Media houses and social media users constitute the
majority beneficiaries of the project. The company’s management and the Communications
Authority of the United States are the key stakeholders of the project.
Milestones
The milestones of this project are; the transmission of quality content, timely service
delivery to customers, and meeting customer expectations. 5G networks support the quality
transmission of real-time content between the respective parties (Yousaf et al., 2017). Video
musical content is transmitted in huge bits to the audience. Social media platforms and media
houses serve a great purpose in the transmission of music to the audience across the globe.
Online transmission of music is quite convenient, especially where the audience has a reliable
network connection. Therefore, 5G networks offer a great chance to the media houses and social
media platforms to enhance better service delivery to the respective audience. High Definition
videos are quite appealing to customers (Gnanavel & Ramakrishnan, 2018). The employment of
5G networks in the transmission of videos will facilitate fast and effective service delivery.

Timelines and Cost
The installation of 5G infrastructure and the transformation of the systems require
systematic processes. For instance, the project involves the procurement of specific equipment
and the involvement of the technical team in the installation process. A steering team
constituting of management members and technicians should be formed during the first month.
Within the first six months, the management should ensure that the required equipment is
bought. Installation of the equipment should only start when the required purchases are
completed. Technicians should be involved in the procurement process to offer technical advice.
Within twelve months, the installed 5G infrastructure should be tested to ensure that they meet
the set objectives. The project should take a maximum of eighteen months. Around $50,000 is
required to facilitate the project. Technicians and members of the company’s management are
the personnel resources needed for the project. Computers and intensive research that will be
involved are the non-staffing resources for the project.
