This research will be on “An investigation to examine the perceived barriers to valuing creativity and creative teaching approaches in Hong Kong Kindergarten schools.” Due to the environment and society changes, parents and teachers tend to forget the importance of creativity in young children education. Hong Kong is a very competitive city and most parents want their child to be considered the best one in their class or outside class, this leads to some very didactic approaches to teaching and learning which favours formal academic skills over creativity. In Chinese, there is a term called ‘贏在起跑線’ it means ‘to win at the starting line’ because of this kind of thinking parents will forget about the importance of creativity. Parents need to know that creativity is not a waste of time, but instead, it helps students in all academic and non-academic aspects and benefits them to think beyond the box.
These three sub-questions will apply to the research.
