7-2-1 Short Answer: Important Answers
our third and final project in this course is a presentation, and this activity is an opportunity to get comfortable working with presentation software, such as Prezi or PowerPoint. Feel free to use either software, but if you are unfamiliar with either, you may wish to use the PowerPoint Template provided. Create a slide that includes answers to the questions below and any graphics you feel would make the slide more eye-catching. You are required to submit a single slide, but you may create additional slides if you wish.
How does understanding the science behind the topic and research you have chosen benefit you? What is the advantage to you, and potentially those around you, of understanding the science behind the issue?
How might finding the answer to the specific question you posed in the question development worksheet in Project 2 affect others around you?
If you are unfamiliar with creating presentations, use the resources in the 4-2 Presentation Supporting Resources document to learn more before getting started.
Once you have completed your slide, upload it here for instructor review.
You will answer closely related questions as part of Project 3, and your work in this learning block can be incorporated into your Project 3 presentation. Be sure to keep a record of your response to these questions for use in Project 3.

You do not have to be a scientist to take an active role in scientific research. Whether by searching for extraterrestrial life or compiling temperature data from nineteenth-century ship logs, anyone can add to our scientific body of knowledge. Review this webpage to see what types of citizen science projects are out there and how they lead to new scientific developments. As you read, choose a citizen science project that interests you. What is it about this project that makes it a good candidate for citizen science research? Would you participate in a project like this? Why or why not? This reflection can be used to help inform elements of your Project 3 presentation.
