Aim The aim of this module is to provide the students with

average time required to drive between the containers is 3 min and the one-way
distance to the Al Amerat is 20 km (speed limit: 72 km/h). Determine the number of
containers that can be emptied per day, based on an 8-h workday. Assume the offroute factor W is equal to 0.12.

direct heat with the volume reduction of waste. An incinerator is being built for the
treatment of (Your student number) tons of organic waste near the Alamrat Landfill
site. As a solid waste expert, you have been asked to assess the amount of air
required for the complete combustion of the given amount of organic solid waste
with the C5H12 formula.

Al Amerat landfill is the first engineered sanitary landfill in Oman which began its
operations in early 2011. The landfill site consists of many landfills; the first landfill is
expected to complete in the end of this year. Good landfill restoration provides an
opportunity for landfill operators to promote public acceptance of landfills. Restoration
is a process which will return a site to a condition suitable for its proposed after use
whilst incorporating measures to protect human health and the environment. Suggest
Closure, Post Closure Plan and Landfill Aftercare Plan and After Use for the first
landfill in Al Amerat. (Solid waste related issues)

Gasification is a process that converts organic or fossil fuel based carbonaceous materials into carbon monoxide, hydrogen and carbon
dioxide. This is achieved by reacting the material at high temperatures (>700 °C), without combustion, with a controlled amount
of oxygen and/or steam.
